ROLE SUMMARY
Working within the Reliability Maintenance environment, performs preventive maintenance, modifies, installs, and maintains company piping systems and provides customer training in the implementation of those systems in compliance with company standards and procedures and government regulations (SOPs, GMPs, GLPs, PSM, etc). Can serve as a maintenance advisor in areas of engineering (process design, material selection, documentation, calibration, testing and problem solving methodology, project scope and follow‑up). Responsible for priority assessment and decision making as it relates to troubleshooting, diagnostics, assembly, repair, and a proactive maintenance of systems and equipment in a cost effective manner.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
A Maintenance Pipe Fitter is required to read and understand drawings / blueprints, utilizing this knowledge for the installation / repair of new and existing equipment.
The Pipe Fitter also fabricates, operates and maintains plumbing, heating and process equipment and systems, including high pressure steam systems, utility piping systems, cryogenic piping systems, specialty piping systems for acids and caustics, etc. (role-specific).
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma / general education degree (GED)
- 6+ years of experience
- Pipe Fitter Journeyman License
- Computer user skills are required (Microsoft systems).

- Blueprint reading
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong work ethic
Self-starter with ability to work independently
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Routinely exposed to hazardous materials, heights, temperature extremes, equipment in motion, noisy, dusty and dirty conditions, stooping, bending and heavy lifting. Participates in multi-craft work activities as required. (EMU craft generic). The proper use of the correct Personal Protective Equipment for each task as well as compliance with all applicable safety Standard Procedures is a must.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
May work variable shifts and 24 hour on call, weekends and overtime as required.
