Role Summary
Responsible for processing raw materials into in-process and finished goods via bulk formulation and assembly of the final packaged product by means of a large-scale industrial operations in company facilities or by external partners. Includes manufacturing such as: API (active pharmaceutical ingredient), Drug Product, Drug Substance/ABI (active biological ingredient) and non-pharmaceutical. Determines manufacturing methods, procedures, and tooling requirements. Schedules, sources and manages logistics to ensure raw material availability. This position is a Formulation Operator in the Injectable Manufacturing and Tank Assembly organization of PGM. This is an entry level position, performing and learning basic techniques, processes, and operations or preparing sterile medicines and formulation equipment. Work is performed in strict compliance with manufacturing standards and all regulatory requirements. Responsible for completing all OJT's and tasks required to perform job duties which include documentation, computers, equipment, work practices within aseptic areas, and production of all defined routine products. Demonstrates ability to properly problem solve work-related issues, work with an appropriate level of independence, exercise good judgment/decision making, and effectively work with team members. All Leader Behaviors are reliably demonstrated at a "Consistently Met" level of performance.
Role Responsibilities
Accountable for Formulation or Tank Assembly activities involved in the production of pharmaceutical drug products in the COVID-19 Vaccine Manufacturing Process
Responsible for the preparation and/or operation of various components, materials, equipment, machines including, but not limited to any and/or all applicable components, materials, equipment, machines in the assigned area(s).
Complete adherence to all plant safety and (current) Good Manufacturing Practices {also cGMP} regulations to the highest.
Strict adherence to department and organizational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Batch Records.
Assist with diagnosis and troubleshooting activities and escalation of process deviations to appropriate Leadership.
Ensure adequate inventory of parts and materials prior to initiating a production run.
Identify and seek to implement process and safety improvement and perform all tasks in a safe manner.
Participate in shift meetings, provide hand off information and communicate with other units and shifts.
There are a total of six positions open for this posting; three on 2nd shift (1500-2330) and three on 3rd shift (2300-0730).
Qualifications
Must-Have
High school diploma / general education degree (GED) plus either an Associates degree or relevant experience
2+ years of relevant experience
Demonstrates ability to properly problem solve work-related issues, exercise good judgment/decision making, and effectively work with team members
Preferred
Prior Pharmaceutical Manufacturing experience.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands: Job tasks may include frequent bending, lifting, and twisting motions. Ability to stand upright for several consecutive hours. Absence of any medical restrictions which could restrict completion of all required duties. Additional demands are area specific.
NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
Work Environment: Colleague may be exposed to airborne particles which requires appropriate safety protection, noise levels may require protective hearing devices, eye protection required. Practices and promotes safe working environmental at all times. Area specific gowning will be required.
These positions will require routine overtime work where each operator will be required to work every other weekend, 12 days on and 2 days off.
