Lead medical to medical communication in the field
- Providing approved scientific/medical content in the designated therapeutic area to HCPs (Health Care Professionals). The communication may include proactive medical communication to provide approved medical contents to stakeholders or reactive medical communications, such as respond to unsolicited medical requests from HCPs or any external stakeholders such as formulary decision maker, payer. The medical communication may also include approved information on disease-states, clinical and real word data (RWD)/evidence (RWE), and pharmaco-economic data / HCEI (Health Care Economic information).
- Organize approved medical meetings and activities with KOLs (Key Opinion Leaders)/experts to deliver cutting edge medical information of defined therapeutic area and assigned products
- Conduct medical educational meetings to introduce new concepts to support safe and appropriate use of Pfizer products and patient outcomes and advance HCP research capability as appropriate
- May speak at medical communication meetings at national and regional levels in accordance with Pfizer policy
Field Scientific expert
- Keeps abreast of medical and scientific developments in the designated therapeutic area by continuously reviewing literature in the field and completing required therapeutic/product training
- Serves as a conduit and resource for external stakeholders’ insights pertaining to disease areas and Pfizer assets.
- Support HCP inquiries for Expanded Access programs in accordance with local guidelines or Pfizer policy CT16.
Medical Stakeholder Management
- Key Stakeholder mapping and engagement plan
- Establishes scientific relationships with medical associations of the defined therapeutic area
- Identify KOLs in therapeutic area and conduct regular medical to medical communication
- Supports the speaker development initiatives
Provide medical input to product medical and brand plan through actionable customer insights
- Implement avenues to gain medical insights such as advisory Boards in compliance with Medical policies and SOPs, global ad-board policy and other applicable procedures
- Provide timely feedback of customer insight to HO based medical colleagues
- Provide insight into unmet medical needs, including gaps in current therapies, the value proposition of Pfizer products, medical differentiation
- Contribute to the medical planning for brand/asset team projects and activities, and work with medical leadership to develop and implement the medical strategies through the insights gained in the field.
Supports the implementation of the medical data generation initiatives in the field
- Supports the implementation of RWD generation, NIS for launch products, Outcomes research and establishment of Disease registries in accordance with Pfizer policies (e.g. CT24, CT44)
- Serve as the conduit and medical resource to the therapeutic area investigators and researchers, as appropriate
- Formal engagements for collaborations with organized customers as well as participation or leading external research, in accordance with Pfizer policies
Supports the TA access programs, and Formulary inclusion initiatives
- In accordance with all applicable laws/regulations and Pfizer policies/SOPs, may conduct medical presentations to decision makers, payers, health systems, and other organized customers, when there is a demonstrated legitimate need for MSL support
Ensure company’s medical compliance
- Implement medical programs and activities in compliance to the relevant SOPs, local guidelines and country laws/regulations
- Communicates medical information in compliance with relevant SOPs, local guidelines and country laws and regulations
- Ensure timely SOP learning and compliance to P2L requirements
Alignment with internal stakeholders
- Other medical affairs colleagues on medical strategy and programs
- Commercial teams (marketing, channel and sales, H&V/ Access)
- Corporate affairs/ public affairs on strategies and programs that impact external stakeholders.
- Global Product Development/ Clinical Development colleagues as applicable
